Discover the Hammock in Palm Coast
If you're considering a move to Palm Coast, Florida and want to live as close to the beach as possible, then you're in luck. In this article, we'll take a tour of the Hammock in Palm Coast and explore three different homes that showcase the beach lifestyle in this beautiful area of Northeast Florida.
One of my favorite spots in the Hammock is Bing's Landing. Located on the Intercoastal Waterway, this scenic area offers a boat launch and stunning views. Just behind me, you can see the Intercoastal Waterway, and if you turn around, you'll catch a glimpse of Captain's Barbecue, which smells absolutely amazing. Trust me, you'll be grateful that you can't smell it through the phone, or we'd all be tempted to stop and grab a bite!
Now, let's hop in the car and explore three different homes in the Hammock.
Our first stop takes us to a luxurious oceanfront home in the Hammock. This three-bedroom, three-bathroom home spans 2,160 square feet and is listed at $995,000. The highlight of this property is its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, with a dune walkway just behind the house. The neighborhood is quiet, and many homes in this area are either raised or have elevated foundations. It's worth noting that this part of the Hammock is unincorporated Palm Coast, meaning residents don't have to adhere to the city's ordinances. You'll often see boats, trailers, and work vehicles in driveways, adding to the water-friendly atmosphere of the community.
Next, we visit the Marineland Acres subdivision, where we find a charming home with a listing price just under $600,000. This three-bedroom, two-bathroom house spans approximately 1,900 square feet. The road leading to this home was recently paved by the county, making it one of the few paved roads in the Hammock. As we walk along the street, you'll notice a mix of raised single-story homes and ground-level houses. The Hammock is part of Palm Coast from an address and mailing standpoint but is governed by the county. This distinction is important to keep in mind when it comes to resources and regulations, especially during storms and hurricane preparations.
While we initially planned to showcase three homes, I wanted to include a fourth option for those seeking a more budget-friendly way to own property in the Hammock. If you're not interested in a condo lifestyle with HOA regulations, there are two alternatives to consider. The first option is to look for a beachside cottage, although they are rare and hard to find. The second option is to explore manufactured homes, like the one behind me. This particular home is a two-bedroom, one bathroom property with over 830 square feet of living space. It is listed at $385,000. Located on a dirt road, this area offers a true old Florida lifestyle with plenty of trees and a peaceful atmosphere. Just a short distance away, you'll find the Intracoastal Waterway, A1A, and the Atlantic Ocean. This is a great option for those looking for a more affordable housing option in the Hammock.
In conclusion, the Hammock in Palm Coast, Florida offers a variety of homes that cater to different lifestyles and budgets. Whether you're looking for luxury oceanfront living or a more affordable option, there is something for everyone in this beautiful beachside community. The Hammock's proximity to the Intercoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean provides residents with endless opportunities for outdoor activities and a true beach lifestyle. So, if you're considering a move to Palm Coast, be sure to explore the Hammock and all it has to offer.
